The American Revolution was a time of great change in North America. It was the first of many events that shaped the face of North America from a continent of colonies to a continent of countries. Of course, history is often written and read from a certain perspective and the perceived influences of the events depend on the perspective from which it is written. This revolution, while it is an integral part of American history, also played an important part of Canadian history as well and this site provides us with the Canadian perspective of the American Revolution.
The site is teeming with information on the American Revolution. From conquest to revolution to the effect on the British Loyalists to the consequences for North America, the user has access to a lot of excellent information. Primary source materials range from images of items used during the Revolution to maps of documenting the changes in the political landscape and the new, emerging border. A nice little resource for Canadian students studying the American Revolution or even American students who would like a different perspective of a key event that established their country.
